Seven Places to Learn More About God

As the world has faced the Coronavirus pandemic it has become acutely evident that things are going to happen that are beyond our control. However, as Christians, we know we have a God that will never leave us and will carry us through victoriously!

I don’t believe God has thrown this virus on us but I do believe He is using it to draw His family closer to Him. Americans especially take our lives for granted most of the time and the virus is a harsh reminder that circumstances can change at any second.

In today’s world, there are so many avenues to learn more about God and His wonderful Word. For many Christians, the church is the place where they learn of God but it’s not the only place we should be depending on. It’s up to us to search God out, learn of him, and not expect to be spoon-fed by the pastor.

Ways to Study You May Not Have Thought About

#1 – The Bible

This is the place that most people think of first and it’s the best place of all to learn of God’s personality, His Love, and His commandments.

#2 – Church

Your church is where you can not only hear the Word of God but have fellowship with other like-minded people. It’s such a blessing to spend time with other believers!

#3 – Bible Study

Bible study comes in many forms. We all need to have regular bible study by ourselves each day. A short devotional with scriptures can do if you have a time constraint.

There are also group bible studies you can attend. I teach a bible study every Tuesday afternoon at our city library where anyone from any church is welcome.  You could do the same.

One way you may not have thought of is a phone bible study. I have two sisters and we connect on a 3-way call every single weekday for bible study. It’s only about thirty minutes long but we learn so much.

Each day one sister will lead the study but we all give our input on what we have studied for the class. We have been doing this for seven months now and all three of us have strengthened our walk with the Lord because of it!

#4 – Christian Literature

There are tons of great Christian books on the market today as well as daily devotional books. One of my favorites is “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young. I’m in my third year through this book and it never gets old. You can find Sarah’s book here.

#5 – Television

Most people have access to at least one Christian station on their television. This is a great place to hear sermons and talk shows that can really help you in your Christian walk with God.

#6 – YouTube

This is one of my favorites! I had no idea there were so many great YouTube channels with Christian shows on them. The thing I love the most is that I can watch these on my schedule and not a specific time like on television.

A few of my favorite people to watch are Kenneth Copeland, Jesse Duplantis, and Sid Roth. I’ll leave the links below.

#7 – Prayer and Time with God

Don’t ever stop spending time with the Father. He needs us to fellowship with Him. Prayer is important and His Word says we can come boldly before His throne, but remember to praise Him and have conversations with Him.

God loves to carry on conversations with His children. There are many ways to hear from God and when He is speaking you will know. The bible says my sheep know my voice. He was talking about us. The more you are in His word the easier it will be for you to hear God.

Get to really know God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are one but they have separate jobs to do when helping the children of God. The strength and peace of God will rule in your heart as you go about your daily chores and life just gets easier.  Learn more about God daily.  I promise you won’t be disappointed.
