where is your faith

One of our previous post explained about the two enemies of faith which are sense knowledge and mental assent. You can go back and read those here. Today I want to talk about your faith and where it is, and how much of it you have, so let’s get started.

Romans 12:3

In Romans 12:3 the bible tells us that God has given us all the same measure of faith. That’s right, we all have the same amount. So why does it seem that some people have more than you do?

The only difference between you and someone who gets what they believe for is that their measure is being used and developed! We have all been equipped and are able to use our faith for great things.

Faith is like a muscle. If you don’t use it, it won’t be strong and you won’t be able to do what you need to do. God never meant for faith to get stagnate, but be used here on earth.

work that muscle

In the book of Acts, chapter 14, there is a story of a man whom had NEVER walked. The disciple Paul sense that the man had faith to be healed and told him to stand to his fee. He not only stood, he leaped and walked! The man had literally been sitting on his faith!

Faith is not a feeling and it’s not reason or human logic. Faith is a real spiritual force that comes out of your inner spirit man.

Think about this man who had never walked. He would have had no muscle tone and his bones would have not been strong. It was a true miracle brought about by faith that he was able to stand, leap, and walk.

It was the same kind of faith that the woman with the issue of blood used. She knew Jesus was coming by and new in her spirit that if she could just tough the hem of his clothing she would be healed, and that’s exactly what happened.

Faith takes action! Both the cripple man and the woman with the issue of blood had to take action and put it with their faith. This all sounds well and good, but how do you get that kind of faith?

How To Get The God Kind of Faith

The steps to getting that kind of faith are really simple, but they take effort on your part.

Read the Word – The bible says that faith comes by hearing the word of God, so every time you are reading the word you are building your faith muscle. Every time you go to church and listen to the words of the preacher you are building your faith. When you read Christian books, or watch Christian videos that have the word, you are building your faith.

Spending Time With God – Spending time with God is more than just prayer for things you need help with. When you spend time with the Father you should praise Him and show gratitude for all He has done for you. You should also simply bask in the glory of His presence and listen for Him to speak to you.

A relationship is a two way street. When you love someone you spend time with them and talk to them. That’s what God wants as well. Spending time with the Father will build your faith!

Meditating on the Word – Reading the word is great but to get the word rooted and grounded in your spirit you must actually think about it and see how it applies to your life and let those words really speak to your heart. Memorizing scriptures also helps because you can meditate on them while at work, home, or even fishing!

Faith Grows by Leaps and Bounds

leaps and bounds

Every time you hear and then act on the Word of God, your faith gets stronger and eventually you can believe for things that seem totally impossible in the natural world. Read Mark 11:23-24. I’m not even going to tell you what this says because I want you to look it up yourself. It’s amazing, especially if you put your name in the scripture!

Believing God (real faith), starts when you know the will of God and the only way to do that is to keep reading His word.

I always say you shouldn’t start out trying to believe for a $1000 for car repairs if you can’t even believe God for a pair of orange socks. Start exercising your faith muscle by walking in faith in the little things first. Then you will move up to medium and large problems that will be knocked down by your faith!

Humans, like God, are creative beings and with God’s Word in you and your faith in Him, NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE! God bless!
