When Christians are struggling financially there is one question that usually comes to mind. Why does God reward the wicked? They are wondering why they must suffer when people who don’t even follow God are living it up and prospering at every turn!

If you have asked that question then this article is for you! First and foremost, God doesn’t simply “let” things happen, and He doesn’t simply “reward” evil.  There are spiritual laws He has set up and even God Himself won’t go against! He is a God that is true and just. Let me explain further.

When Satan was cast out of heaven he took a third of the angels with him. We call those demons. God gave Satan dominion over the earth and what happens on earth. But things changed. Now, before you get scared, God also made provisions for us as Christians to change circumstances through prayer! God always makes a way out for us.

Once Jesus came and died and then went to sit at the right hand of the Father, Jesus was made King. The bible says that Satan is the Prince of Power of the Air. It also says he roams around seeking someone he can either kill, steal from, or destroy! He is evil to the core.

So Why Does God Reward The Wicked?

The Law of Believing & Receiving

I’ll go over more of how God gives us control over our situations further down so keep reading. For now, I want to answer that burning question of why does God reward the wicked.

There are two spiritual laws that govern how the wicked can be so successful. One of the spiritual laws that God left on earth is the “law of sowing and reaping”. The other one is whatever we believe to be true with all our hearts before we see it, we can have. It’s the “law of believing and receiving”.

People with no religious upbringing can also have faith. They don’t use their faith to believe in God or His commandments, but they do believe in themselves, what they can accomplish, and in the power of positive thinking.

Many are like a dog with a bone and they never give up striving to achieve their goals no matter how hard the road it. Eventually, they will make it to their desired destination!  We should be just as determined as they are.  This reminds me of an old saying, “even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.”  Just think how much more you could do in faith with God on your side!

You must also realize that while non-Christians aren’t going to heaven, not all of them are mean people. The sad truth is that many good people will go to hell because you and I didn’t share the gospel with them! That is why it’s so important not to pass up any opportunity, when God opens the door, to share His word.

The Law of Sowing & Reaping

Many of these people are real givers. They give to the poor, their relatives, and other non-profit organizations. The law of sowing and reaping will work for anyone. You get back what you give. In many of my articles here on God’s Abundant Life, I have shared how this law works.

People who are givers will receive back many times more than what they gave. God set this law up so that Christians could live successful and prosperous lives, but many are so tight with their money they never get ahead.

When you wonder why does God prosper the wicked you should now realize that it’s simply because they use His laws better than some of us do!

I said earlier I would go over how God gives us control over our situations here on earth and it also has to do with another law of the universe that God has set up.

The Law of You Possess What You Confess

This law is “you possess what you confess”. Further down I will list all the scriptures that back up all these spiritual laws I’m talking about today. Check them out for yourselves for a better understanding.

This law can be found in so many places in the bible, and Jesus Himself talks about it over and over. Even our salvation takes confessing the right words.

In order to live a successful life, we must not look at our circumstances nor listen to our thoughts and emotions. We must “confess” god’s word over the situation. By doing this we send God’s word forth to do the work. All we have to do is confess and believe.

Here is a good example. Christian Sally is sitting down to pay bills and sees that in six weeks her quarterly car insurance will be due and she has just been laid off from work. What should she do? What she should “not” do is let fear take over. Fear is NOT of God.

Sally has been attending a small bible study group and knows exactly what to do. She lays her hands over the bill and prays. “God, your Word says that you will supply all my need according to Christ’s riches in glory. I know that you own everything thing Lord so I have no doubt you will make a way for this bill to be paid. Thank you Jesus according to your spiritual law of believing and receiving, I not only believe you will take care of this, but I also receive it in the name of Jesus. Thank you Jesus this bill is paid in full!”

She won’t waiver on this statement and won’t let any negative words about it ever cross her lips. It’s a done deal as far as Sally is concerned! This is possessing what you confess! The words we use on a daily basis dictate how successful or unsuccessful we are.

Stop Thinking Lack

How many times have thoughts of lack come into your head during the day? Have you found yourself thinking things like, “This will never work”, or maybe thoughts like “I can never come up with that much money?

Your subconscious remembers what you think and what you say, positive or negative so we need to think and say only positive things. Confessing the right words, the words that are from God’s Word will bring the desired result!

Confessing the right words takes an effort on your part as well as getting rid of those negative thoughts. When you hear a negative thought come into your head, say these words. “Stop. I cast down that thought and imagination because it doesn’t line up with the Word of God.” Once you do this you simply replace that thought with some form of positive confession. This really makes a huge difference in how your days go.

I hope these spiritual laws help answer that question “Why Does God Prosper the Wicked”? Below are the scriptures that back up these spiritual laws. Read them and get them into your spirit because this is God’s road map to success!
